Liahona Warrior Arts and T- 5 Boxing participated in 3 Demonstrations this year,  boxers competed in local boxing matches and there was the legendary  Seminar with Danny Inosanto.

 Our First Demo was Indonesian Day 2007,one of our best perfromance yet! Rocky got his picture on the front cover of the program  and was able to thank Tony Lolong and Rudy & Maddy Moll for all there support.If it wasnt for Rudy there would be no Indonesian Day for Liahona Warrior Arts.

Our Second Demo was at the Pacific Rim Festival  in old Sacramento.The crowd was larger than last year and we got to see Carlito and a bunch of other Filipino Martial Artists perform on stage....

 Our third Demo was Training the Guardian Angels in Sacramento that was been very fun and rewarding. I missed a chance to teach about 30+ Angels in Oakland....Felix Vasquez got the chance instead......

Liahona Warrior Arts and the Martial Arts world lost Sifu Larry Hartsell....Sifu Hartsell passed away  this year and we will never forget him...we will not lose him in our hearts!!!

This year T-5 Boxing has re-opened the Grass Valley boxing gym and is part of a Mentoring program for youth at local high schools in Grass Valley and Sacramento locations. We have 2 programs going well and will end in March of 2008. T-5 Boxing also trains at Ray Woods gym in Sacramento. T-5 boxers go there for sparring and wisdom from a great instructor in the boxing business...thanks Ray and Olga Woods  for letting us come and train at your gym.

WHY DO YOU HAVE SO MANY BOXING INSTRUCTORS?

I have been  fortunate enough over the years to be able to train with many Boxing instructors.I saw oppritunitys to learn and grow in many different ways with many differnt styles of fighting, training and attitudes. I  have maintained a great relationship with all of them and still train with many of them today. I have been able to gather alot of information and use what I see works best for me and my students.

 DO YOU STUDY AND TEACH KARATE? HOW LONG DID YOU STUDY? 

 I studyied under Pat Kelly & Bruce Juchnik of Kosho Ryu Kempo Karate. (James Mitose Lineage) I studyied for 11 years. I  also attend the  Kosho Kempo Gathering  every October when the Seminar is provided in the Sacramento area. I am not certified to teach Kosho Karate nor any other form of Karate.

 WHO HAS TAUGHT YOU THE ART OF PENCAK SILAT? WHO DO YOU CURRENTLY STUDY WITH?

 I have personally trained with William De Thouras ( Kuntao Silat) I currently train with him 10 hrs during the year in Grass Valley. Goerge Santana has given me the right to teach Pencak Silat as long as I  remain a honorable and worthy individual.  I currently perform 3-4 Silat Demonstraions per year  in San Fransisco , Sacramento and Stockton, California . I have performed at Indonesian Day  in San fransico since 2002.  I have performed at the Pacific Rim Festival  since 2005  performing my personal art of Bunga Cantik Pencak Silat, while also promoting my martial arts school LIAHONA WARRIOR ARTS . I also  proudly train with Guru Danny Inosanto in MAPHILINDO SILAT 12 hrs a year, I train with him is Stockton or at his Academy in Los Angeles. I'm also a member of the Suwanda Academy International.  I have learned most of my Filipino arts from : Carlito Bonjoc.  I hold a Level 3 Certificate  in Mata Sa Bagyo - Grand Master Nito Noval of DOCE PARES Sacrameneto- GRAND MASTER TONY SOMERA of BAHALA NA ESCRIMA & BAHALA NA ESCRIMA of Sacramento.  I hold a LEVEL 2  Certificate  in BAHALA NA Escrima.   I hold a 2nd Level  Certificate  under Goerge Santana of Sala De Armas Escrima. My Filipino empty hand training "Panantukan" comes from Rick Faye of the Minnesota Kali Group and from Guru Danny Inosanto.

 WHO ARE YOUR BRAZILIAN JUI-JITSTU  INSTRUCTORS?

 I have trained with Ceaser Gracie and I currently train with Marco's Teregossa in Grass Valley Ca.  I'm also affiliated with Casio Werneck. I currently teach a small group of Cage Fighters with Jiu-Jistu from these Instructors.

 PLEASE .....REMEMBER : PACIFIC COAST CAGE FIGHTERS  the only legitamite group in Northern California for Cage fighting events. So if you plan to fight  or have a student compete in a Cage Fighting tournament in Grass Valley or Sacramento be sure your Instructor/ Promoter hold's a License and has Secondary  Insurance for Injury's . Grass Valley has had  local Martial Arts Instructors " Scamming" local merchants and area fighters for un-authorized  tournaments and taking  money  from local merchants and  area fighters to host  non -ligitament cage fighting events and they are not licensed to do so.  WHAT IS ROUGH & TUMBLE FIGHTING? 

 Rough & Tumble fighting was founded by Shane Milone' and was proven and tested in actual combat during WW II and  in the jungles during the Vietnam conflict  involving the French Foriegn Legion. Im a CHIEF/ FULL INSTRUCTOR under Shane Milone' of Cedar Ridge, CA. Shane Milone' promoted me to  the rank of 4th Degree Black Belt in Rough & Tumble Fighting and  the Inheritor /Chief Instructor of this art in  the year 2005.

 DO YOU TEACH WEAPONS?

  I teach self defense from a  knife attack and I also teach self defense against stick  cane, whip, staff, and the  Indonesian Karambit. ( I also collect Indonesian weapons, mainly the Kris )  My system for knife self defense has been titled with an acronym  titled " Knowledge Needed In Fighting Enviroment". Acronym.... K.N.I.F.E.  I teach Knife disararms and  the effects of knife cuts to the human anatomy during a knife fight. I do not teach students  to be  "offensive" knife fighters,   I teach purely  "defensive"  knife training .I currently have students that study ABC Cane Combatives and my K.N.I.F.E training.I currently teach Law Enforcment Officers self defense techniquies from Rick Fayes curriculum, against a weapon, without a weapon or weapon verse weapon.

 HAVE YOU TRAINED IN JEET KUNE DO ARTS?

I trained with Sifu Larry Hartsell  of the JKD Grappling Association from 1993 to 2007. I became an Apprentice Instructor under the late Larry Hartsell ( 1942 - 2007) I also became an Apprentice Instructor under Burton Richardson of JKD Concepts.   Im a  JKD student of Rick Faye of the Minnesota Kali Group .  I'm also a student of Danny Inosanto of the INOSANTO ACADEMY.
 

 DO YOU TEACH MUAY THAI?

 I study and teach the fighting and self defense applications of Muay Thai. I'm a student of Muay Thai under Art Ramos from Fairtex Mauy Thai in the Bay Area. I currently instruct a yearly class on the history and applications of Muay Thai at UC Davis Campus.

 WHAT IS VOVINAM VIET VO DAO?

 A Vietmanese Martial Art. I'm the Sacramento area Representitive under Master Linh Thai, Technical Director of Vovinam International, Seattle Washington.

WHY DO YOU STUDY AND TEACH SO MANY DIFFERENT MARTIAL ARTS?

One reason I study so many diferent Martial Arts is becuase it erases racial and cultural prejudices.Many of my friends are Filipino, Hmong, Vietmanese, Thai and Indonesian.The study of many martial arts in my opinion keeps you humble, respectful, and open minded to new ideas, methods of training, friendships and channels of communication. I hope to become a better person through  the study of many martial arts. Here is a perfect example:

  WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIENCE IN BOUNCER/SECURITY/ POLICE WORK?

I have also had the privelage to work with the Grant Union High School Police under Jeff Solomon for 1 year. And work as a  Cooler/Bouncer ( ROADHOUSE STYLE  LOL ) for 2 years at the Radisson Hotel in Sacramento. I currently provide Security/ BodyGuard work for several musical  bands,  mainly Blue Oyster Cult,  I work for famous sports stars and private individuals here in the Sacramento and Bay Area. I hold a current Guard Card with the State of California and  B.S.I.S, and provide Security for local Latter Day Saint Church Officials when called apon and  I have provided Security/Body Guard work for  CHARGIN BOXING PROMOTIONS at local boxing events. I have also worked at the CAL EXPO STATE FAIR WALK ALONG PROGRAM  providing the Police and Security teams with backup support at the Annual California State Fair each year since 2005.  I  also proudly serve on the SACRAMENTO COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM ( C.E.R.T) BATTALION 7 - and hold a Level 3 Certification.

The founder of the Guardian Angels, Curtis Sliwa has designated me to be the Sacramento Chapters Self Defense Instructor and Assistant Chapter Leader. I  was presented a graduation Certificate  personaly by Curtis Sliwa on January 13th 2008 ,Oakland California. I patrol with the Sacramento Guardian Angels on the streets of Sacramento, Oakland, Los Angeles and Stockton, providing our citezens with a Safe Enviroment, First Aid and CPR. We provide our local Law Enforcment with " Eyes and Ears" in acts of crime and violence.
